"This is what happens after" is a PhD research project out of the University of Melbourne. The project aims to find out what people who have been impacted by a disaster think was helpful in their recovery.

Research into disaster recovery is a growing field. We think that people who have experienced a disaster have expert knowledge about what works well when recovering.

By asking people to write a letter to themselves about what they considered to be helpful (and unhelpful) to recovering from a disaster, we hope to be able to analyse this information for consistent themes that can be used to inform recovery policy and practice.
